The City of Vaughan is one of the fast growing cities in Canada. With a population of more than 320,000 people,Vaughan includes the communities of Concord, Kleinburg, Maple, Thornhill and Woodbridge. Officially incorporated as a city in 1991, Vaughan was the first city in York Region. The City of Vaughan is a multicultural community where 99 different languages are spoken. Just around the corner from Icona Condos is Mackenzie Vaughan Hospital is under construction along Major Mackenzie Drive (between Highway 400 and Jane Street) which would serve Vaughan. The provincial government of Ontario approved construction of the hospital in July 2011, land preparation for construction began in the summer of 2014. The expected date of completion is 2019 and will be part of a regional hospital system with an incorporated administration and medical staff managed by Mackenzie Richmond Hill Hospital.

Another project that The Gupta Group is also developing and also in the planning stages is 3450 Dufferin St. A major landscape change has been proposed for 3450 Dufferin Street, Toronto.  Located opposite Dufferin Street from Yorkdale Shopping Centre, just south of Highway 401. Currently in its place is a 1970 12-storey Holiday Inn hotel with 372 rooms, 460 spaces of surface parking. A plan by developer Gupta Group aims to redevelop the site with a new project containing three towers, residential, hotel, commercial, and restaurant uses.
